Mr. Behrle is a third generation
homebuilder who has worked in the family’s residential
construction business since boyhood. As a principal with Behrle
Construction
Company
Inc., Mr. Behrle has been responsible for all phases of custom
and semi-custom homebuilding including budgeting, cost estimating,
contract bidding, site supervision, and project management.
Additionally, Mr. Behrle is a skilled carpenter.
On June 6, 2003 Mr. Behrle
became paralyzed from the waist down from a dirt bike accident.
This major
life change and
severe setback did not stop his will to strive for excellence.
While recovering in Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, Mr. Behrle
was scheduling and coordinating with contractors in order to
fulfill his obligations to his customers. He had a 1-½ month
stay in the hospital and was fortunate enough to come home
to a fully renovated ADA compliant apartment in his parent’s
home. While attending outpatient Rehab at Magee for ambulation
training, Mr. Behrle taught himself to drive and formed his
own corporation, JSB Construction Company, Inc. Shortly after
the formation of JSB, Mr. Behrle built his first semi-custom
home independent of the family business. Achieving these goals
within 6 months of his accident was proof that his disability
would not prevent him from pursuing his personal and professional
goals.
Mr. Behrle continues to be actively involved with the homebuilding
operations of Behrle Construction Company and also takes on
general-contracting projects with JSB Construction. Mr. Behrle
still enjoys most of the activities that he did when he was
not wheelchair bound including hunting, boating, archery, and
skeet shooting. Most recently, Mr. Behrle has become involved
with metal fabrication projects. He attended an advanced welding
class and has fabricated items for use within the home.
