Mr. Fischer has spent most of his years in the Philadelphia
suburbs. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Prep where he
lettered in numerous sports all four years while volunteering
to work with inner city youths during the school year and with
the poor in Appalachia during summers. Mr. Fischer then went
on to earn his BSBA from Georgetown University in Washington,
D.C. During his college years, Mr. Fischer became involved
in tutoring and mentoring programs in some of D.C.’s
poorest areas as well as working with the poor in Central America.
Following a devastating earthquake in Guatemala, he and his
brother spent their college summer building houses and providing
irrigation systems. Following that experience, they created
a project that raised money for housing for Guatemala’s
poor living in rural villages.
Upon graduation from college, Mr. Fischer embarked on successful
careers in the foodservice and energy industries. Working in
the areas of sales, marketing, operations and administration,
he excelled in all areas of business development. Mr. Fischer’s
backgrounds in business development and charitable works and
his direct interest in accessible housing make him a valuable
addition as Executive Director of the Homescapes team.
